Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ix Innovations is dedicated to enhancing the usability of electrical test and measurement instrumentation through continual product innovation. Our goal is to empower our users to experiment and invent ever more advanced and useful products for future generations.
Ix Innovations’ first product to market is the PocketPico picoammeter – a highly sensitive instrument that quickly and accurately measures electrical current down to 20 trillionths of one ampere. The PocketPico’s handheld size and unique SafeRanging technology make it the first major innovation in this space in nearly a decade.
Our picoammeter is only our first product to market. Ix is growing by developing additional low power instrumentation under the PocketPico brand as well as products for the broader test & measurement industry.

Ixian Logic
The name Ix Innovations was inspired by the mythical planet Ix in the Frank Herbert Dune series. On Ix, machines and technology were allowed to flourish in a “supreme machine culture.” The devices created on Ix are considered essential throughout the rest of the universe.
We believe that one day our products will be similarly recognized as the ultimate and essential solutions for usability, functionality and design.
Genesis
Ix Innovations was born in 2009 when two of us, self-described engineering geeks, became frustrated with the limitations of our low current measurement equipment. We decided to take a fresh look at these devices and apply our unique skills to re-engineer the technology and develop a solution to meet our needs. Our work quickly led to our first innovation, the SafeRanging technology, and based on this breakthrough we subsequently developed our PocketPico picoammeter.
